Full-Mouth Reconstruction

Full-mouth reconstruction, otherwise known as full-mouth rehabilitation, describes the process of restoring or simultaneously rebuilding all of the teeth in the upper and lower jaw in combination with the implementation of a dentist’s occlusal (bite) training. In order to properly restore a patient’s smile, the entire physiology of the head and neck should be taken in consideration.

The need for a full-mouth restoration can result from having lost teeth due to decay or trauma or from having teeth that have become severely worn from age, acid erosion or grinding.

What’s involved in Full-Mouth Rehabilitation?

Before planning a full-mouth reconstruction, see your dentist for a comprehensive examination. Reconstruction requires a healthy dental base. Next, your bite will be examined, recorded and measured with computer technology. If the bite is not corrected before dental reconstruction is done, then the initial reasons for the treatment will remain, causing the wear and or destruction of your new smile. Once your bite has been corrected, the ideal cosmetic procedure can be considered in order to complete the full-mouth restoration.

The final procedures may include (but are not limited to):

  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Implants
  • Tooth Whitening
  • Porcelain Crowns and or Bridges
